About our Blog and its Author

Let me introduce myself.  I’m Sherry Mulne.  I’m an independent marketing consultant, and have been working closely with TNNA for over ten years. (Just to let you know, I also work with a variety of other companies . . .)

I’ve been privileged to have been involved in many programs and activities with the association, ranging from strategic planning to the creation and implementation of targeted, future oriented programs like Stitch to WIN Against Breast Cancer and TNNA’s internship program (Pathways into Professional Needlearts or PiPN).

I’ve also been assisting with communications on all levels, from the association’s various web sites to assorted email blasts, to articles in the newsletter and industry publications.  I’ve had a chance to watch the association, and the industry, grow . . . and transform.

Ten years ago, many of TNNA’s members didn’t even have computers; even fewer used email, and a few didn’t even have fax machines.  As technology has made communication both easier and more difficult, TNNA continues striving to improve the way we utilize all the media available to us to better interface with our members, and other needlearts professionals.

TNNA.org, the association’s official Web site is a vast resource of information.  TNNA members can register online for any of the four annual trade shows, as well as access a range of valuable members-only statistics and contacts.  Fiber enthusiasts can learn more about the industry and stitchers can locate shops in their areas.  TNNA also supports Web sites managed by product segment groups, Yarngroup.org and WorldofNeedlepoint.com.

Now, with the launch of TNNAblog.com, we add another thread to the fabric of our communications program.  (Sorry for the play on words, I just couldn’t help myself.)

I have felt, for a long time, the best way to share all the information coming out of TNNA, and all the information flowing into TNNA, is for us to utilize the “blog.”  And so, here we are.  I plan to cover a number of topics related to the association itself, the programs we support, the industry itself . . . and anything else that is relevant or of interest to those of you who stop by.  If you have ideas, questions or concerns, please let me know so we can address them in an open forum.
